How wondrous is the morning glory
How fleeting in its youth
Should we forsake to plant it
Lest it tell to us the truth; That each day shall have some glory and
Each day shall have some gloom
Remember
Love
For only love
Will ever vanquish doom.

My Dog Reeby
In the ruined country
Of my heart
I am trying
To keep a small fire lit one small space
For us to sit
Together trying
To stay warm holding
On to each other
Through this horrid
Storm of tears and loss and pain and
Longing.
On this broke-down road we travel
I am wishing I
Took longer looks internalized and memorized
All those glorious sights we cant find again
No matter the wells we wish at
I am glad we went the way we did
Happy joyful hopeful kids
Playing with this dog we love, Never knowing
How the bridge would crumble nor
Thinking how our souls could tumble.
Her trail is parting way with ours she
Is taking her tail to distant stars
And bringing the
innocent love we felt for her to be
Her only baggage.
In the ruined country
Of my heart
I am trying
To keep a small fire lit one small space
For us to sit
Together trying
To stay warm holding
On to each other
Through this horrid
Storm of tears and loss and pain and
Longing.
On this broke-down road we travel

I started to wonder last night if dick cheney might be headed for the defendant's table at the world court. He's very good at dissembling, but I highly doubt that scooter-pie-libby is gonna take the whole fall or get paid off big time without someone knowing. The election thievery was thwarted because of the intensely close scrutiny. Do they really think we're all just going to go away or become, like george, incurious?
You know, something else bothers me too. Of course there is media coverage of blagoyevich, and you know, his language, attitude and quite obvious contempt is not so different from the Reverend Wright's , but do we hear the same hue and cry? Ha!

You know I can't help but wonder if some of this crap happening with the illinois governor is an intentional attempt to throw crap at jesse jackson jr. and ruin his chances. you know, things have obviously improved a great deal since the 60's , but nowhere near enough, as we all well know.
But the fishiest thing of all is the price of gas....I paid $1.61 a gallon in Jersey the other day.
How can it be that wall street crashed, the housing market blew apart in an f5, now the auto makers are gimping along. I wonder how much the bush family lost in the stock market,,oh oh oops ! Their money is all in OIL ! ! ! I guess in a way we should pity them because the only things these folks really have is money. They have no style, no class, no looks ,no brains and not one shred of honor. You know, they only had 2 kids to raise; said 2 kids just sorta drank their way through college. When they spoke at the 2004 Republican convention, it was actually like listening to female beavis and buttheads. One thing about money is that it doesn't buy brains, coherency or an abilty to articulate. Not one bush young enough to serve has served in the military. One of dubya's dummies said she could serve better here at home. HA! the only thing they've served is themselves. My newest dream is to see Bush and Cheney at the defendants' table in the world court.

a long time ago, shortly after i became a rehab nurse, i walked into a room at 5:30 in the morning and found a worker trying to haul a patient out of bed. the old lady clearly did not want to get up, she was shaking her head no, and actively resisting. the worker said "she must be confused", and this is the poem that ultimately resulted.
The Speaking Look
She's not confused
I said she just can't
Speak.
Her hand flew up
Like a startled bird, to
light upon my own. My eyes were met
and held
for a long beat, long enough for hers to
telegraph their message ,
And i heard
Thank you
Just as clear as if
She'd said it.

well I kept commenting at my sister's spot as "anonymous" and i decided i needed to own my opinions, so here goes my blog.
One of the really biggest thrills of my life occured on election day. When oprah said if he didn't win they'd have her in hospital with an IV I had to laugh, because I said if he didn't win I was going to have a heart attack! Just think...we're both still alive! And finally the morals and the hope and the grandeur of this country are alive again too. May God bless Mr. Obama and his family every day.
I do want one more thing for christmas, and that's Mr. Karl Rove trussed up in a nice prison-
orange jump suit with a cute litle bow on his bald head.
And we must never become complacent. There are still too many inequities. I mentioned once in my sister's blog that we need an organized peaceful resistance to the unjust justice system. We need to do that on a very local level, and become the watchdogs in our own small towns and cities. When we are made aware of something that's been adjudicated unfairly, we need to speak out, write, protest, do whatever it takes . I know in my state, Senator Schumer is a stand-up guy and if issues are brought to his attention he will investigate. We can't misbehave or stoop to any dirty low down karl rove type tricks...we just have to take the high road and be as noble and dignified as we can ever be, and if we can do this by the millions, then, Yes We Can!
